The Evasi0n Jailbreak was without a doubt the most popular Jailbreak release ever. Within the first 10 minutes of Evasi0n going live there was over 100,000 downloads of the software. Almost all of Evasi0ns initial download links went dead within minutes because so many people were franticly trying to download it. Just 1 day later there was nearly 2 million Jailbroken devices and 4 days later the number of Jailbroken devices grew to a whopping 7 million.
It has been some time since we have heard any type of statistics about how many Jailbroken devices there are now, but now Pod2G has chimed in on Twitter stating that nearly 4 weeks after Evasi0ns release there is 0ver 14 million Jailbroken devices on iOS 6.x.
If you decide to count any firmware version, including devices still Jailbroken on iOS 5 or even iOS 4, that makes 23 million Jailbroken devices in total. The insane popularity of Evasi0n has to do with the fact that users were in anticipation of the Jailbreak for so long (almost a year).
So far, the Evasi0n Jailbreak has been unpatched by Apple, even after releasing two new firmware versions. Unfortunately however, it was reported that in the iOS 6.1.3 beta 2 firmware Apple has indeed patched at least one of the exploits used by Evasi0n to Jailbreak devices Untethered on iOS 6.
