The last two remaining devices to be tested with Pod2g’s iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak was the 3G version of the new iPad (iPad 3) and iPad 2 WiFi, R2. Hacker Pod2g has recently tweeted however, that he has had a chance to test Absinthe v2.0 with the new iPad WiFi + 3G and everything worked. This means the new iPad (iPad 3) is fully supported in Pod2g’s iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak and there is only one last device left to test.
This is some exciting news because it means the public release of the iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak is getting even closer! The supported devices for the iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak now include:
- iPhone 3Gs
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4 CDMA
- iPhone 4S
- iPad 1
- iPad 2 Wifi
- iPad 2 GSM
- iPad 2 CDMA
- iPad 3 Wifi
- iPad 3 CDMA
- iPad 3 Global
- iPod 3G
- iPod 4G
- AppleTV 2
With only one last device left to test Pod2g has sent out a tweet asking anyone who is at the Hack In The Box 2012 security conference if they have an iPad2,4 with the model number MC954 or MC989.
Once Pod2g is able to verify this device is compatible it should only be a couple more days until we see something released. As always, we will keep you updated. Until that time please leave any further thoughts in the comments section.
